“Through the information posted on newspapers and radio, many scientists and businesses have become aware of the institute's S&T capabilities in the fields of hydropower, thermal power, cement, solar power… As a result, it helped the institute sign dozens of projects, bringing in revenue of trillions of VND” – Dr. Phan Dang Phong informed.

The press helps disseminate the results of science and technology activities
Assoc.Prof.Dr. Le Quang Dien – lecturer at Hanoi University of Science and Technology – commented: In the era of the S&T revolution, meeting the needs of socio-economic development, the press is an indispensable bridge between scientists and businesses, economic and social organizations. Through updated and relevant information on S&T research results, businesses or other organizations and individuals have the opportunity to access new S&T achievements that can be applied to production and business.
At the same time, scientists also have the opportunity to implement research results into real life, serving social needs, creating motivation for S&T activities, and in many cases can seek financial resources and other support to develop their research fields.
Strengthening communication work
According to Dr. Phan Dang Phong, the press plays a role in introducing the mechanisms and policies of the Party, the State, and the Government on S&T development; outstanding achievements of domestic and world science, typically S&T applications contributing to socio-economic growth… This is one of the important information channels, helping institute leaders and scientists orient S&T activities and research and development activities in the right direction and in a timely manner. “The National Research Institute of Mechanical Engineering always values communication activities in the field of S&T, considering it as a driving force and prerequisite for success in bringing applied research results into life” – Dr. Phan Dang Phong affirmed.
Assoc.Prof.Dr. Le Quang Dien stated: S&T communication activities should not merely reflect outstanding S&T results, but need to reflect all aspects of S&T activities, the relationship between S&T activities and domestic and international socio-economic fields…
Assessing the role of S&T communication, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Bui The Duy shared: Science journalists play an important role in attracting the public, bringing the work of scientists from the laboratory to public attention. A science journalist does not always need detailed, in-depth knowledge of a specific field, but must have broad knowledge of science along with a passion for science and the ability to convey difficult concepts.
| In the context of overall socio-economic development, in our country as well as many countries around the world, the public's demand for S&T communication is increasing, stemming from the needs of the scientific community and society. S&T communication has become an important part of modern society. |
