In the days of November, from the 13th to the 16th of November 2025, the National Research Institute of Mechanical Engineering (NARIME) marked a successful traditional "Return to the Roots" program in Quang Tri. This is not only an annual organized activity but also a profound spiritual journey aimed at educating and fostering gratitude and honoring the glorious traditions of the Vietnamese nation.
The NARIME delegation, including representatives from the Trade Union, the Veterans Association, and the Youth Union, together made a pilgrimage to this historic land. Every step was an expression of deep gratitude for the immense contributions of the heroic martyrs who sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland.
The journey began with solemn and moving moments at historical sites. The NARIME delegation respectfully held a memorial ceremony and offered incense at the Truong Son National Martyrs Cemetery, showing reverence before the noble sacrifices that forged the nation's independence today.
In particular, the Gratitude Ceremony at the Quang Tri Ancient Citadel and the flower lantern release on the Thach Han River truly touched the hearts of each member. Amidst the shimmering candlelight and the gentle waters of the historic Thach Han River, the sparkling lanterns drifted softly, carrying memories and prayers from the depths of the soul, sent to the spirits of the martyrs who forever rest in these waters, merging into the motherland.
With the spirit of "Remembering the source when drinking water," the program turned gratitude into concrete, practical, and meaningful actions.
The NARIME delegation personally presented 20 gratitude gifts to former soldiers of the 1972 Ancient Citadel in Quang Tri province facing difficult circumstances, and also provided cash support for the activities of the Quang Tri Provincial Association of 1972 Ancient Citadel Veterans. This activity demonstrates the deep concern and responsibility of today's generation towards those who dedicated their youth and blood for the independence and freedom of the country.
In addition, the trip was also a valuable practical learning experience. The delegation visited historical sites such as the Vinh Moc Tunnels and the Hien Luong Bridge - Ben Hai River. Through each relic and each story, every officer, employee, and worker of the Institute gained a deeper understanding of the resilient, indomitable will and the aspiration for peace and national reunification of the Vietnamese people.
The "Return to the Roots" 2025 program has created strong momentum and strengthened internal solidarity. The indomitable spirit of previous generations is a great source of encouragement, helping the NARIME staff to continue excellently fulfilling all assigned scientific and technological tasks. Thereby, the National Research Institute of Mechanical Engineering contributes to the robust development of Vietnam's mechanical engineering industry, worthy of the nation's glorious traditions.
The journey has concluded, but the spirit of "Quang Tri - Sacred Land of Heroes" will forever remain in the minds of each member, fueling passion and serving as a valuable asset on the path of building and developing the country for the National Research Institute of Mechanical Engineering.
