Abstract: This paper presents the research results on fabricating an NBR rubber coating on the pump chamber. There are three process parameters for fabricating the NBR rubber coating on a steel substrate: vulcanization temperature of 135°C, pressure applied to the rubber surface of 30 kgf/cm2, and vulcanization time of 30 minutes. The mechanical properties of the obtained rubber coating include: tensile strength of 11.8 MPa; elongation at break of 530%; permanent set of 33.2%; hardness of 66 ShoreA; abrasion resistance of 1.78 cm3 / 1.61 km; peel strength of 7.5 MPa and shear strength of 18.8 MPa. The obtained results indicate the potential for applying this technological solution to effectively protect against corrosion for sand pump chambers and mineral slurry pump chambers.
