On April 27, 2023, at the Hall of the Key Laboratory of Welding and Surface Treatment Technology, the National Research Institute of Mechanical Engineering solemnly organized the 31st Trade Union Congress, term 2023 - 2028.

Attending the Congress, on behalf of the Vietnam Industry and Trade Union: Comrade Vu Truong Son - Vice President of the Vietnam Industry and Trade Union (VITU), Comrade Tran Manh Thang - Member of the Executive Committee of the Trade Union, representative of the Organization and Inspection Board of VITU, Comrade Le Van Long - Specialist of the Organization and Inspection Board of VITU; on behalf of the National Research Institute of Mechanical Engineering: Comrade Phan Dang Phong - Secretary of the Party Committee, Director of the Institute, Comrade Vu Van Khoa - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Deputy Director of the Institute, Comrade Phan Huu Thang - Member of the Party Committee, Deputy Director of the Institute, Comrade Duong Trong Dong, Member of the Party Committee - Chairman of the Institute's Trade Union for the 30th term; comrades from the Party Committee Executive Board, the Trade Union, the Secretary of the Youth Union, the Chairman of the Veterans Association, the Women's Union, leaders of Departments and Professional Centers, and the full presence of delegates representing the trade unions of various units.

At the Congress, delegates listened to the report on trade union activities, the self-assessment of the Institute's Trade Union Executive Committee for the 30th term, and the direction and tasks for the Trade Union Executive Committee for the 31st term.

This was followed by presentations from delegates and contributions from union members and unit-level trade unions.

Comrade Duong Trong Dong delivered a speech responding to and acknowledging the contributions from union members and unit-level trade unions.

The Congress heard speeches from Comrade Phan Dang Phong and Comrade Nguyen Truong Son, who provided guidance to the Congress and offered highly practical contributions to building a sustainable Institute Trade Union, while also recognizing the achievements, results, and contributions of the 30th-term Trade Union Executive Committee.

The Congress proceeded to vote to elect the 31st-term Trade Union Executive Committee, consisting of 7 comrades meeting the standards, quantity, and structure as proposed in the personnel plan by the 30th-term Trade Union Executive Committee, and elected delegates to attend the 4th Congress of the Vietnam Industry and Trade Union.

Comrade Phan Dang Phong presented flowers, gifts of gratitude, and took commemorative photos with 04 comrades from the 30th-term Trade Union Executive Committee who were not continuing their duties in the 31st-term Trade Union Executive Committee.

The Congress voted to approve the Resolution and concluded the Congress.

The 31st Trade Union Congress of the National Research Institute of Mechanical Engineering, term 2023 – 2028, concluded successfully.
