Formation and development process:
The Institute of Mechanical Engineering under the Ministry of Industry and Trade is a state-owned research and development agency for science and technology in the field of mechanical engineering and has over 60 years of experience in the field of mechanical engineering and automation.
On July 6, 1962, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 76/TTg established the “Institute of Mechanical Design and Manufacturing” under the Ministry of Heavy Industry;
In 1971, the Institute was renamed the Institute of Industrial Machinery Design;
In 1978, the Institute was renamed the Institute of Machinery Research;
In 1997, the Institute was renamed the Institute of Mechanical Research.
The Institute has 15 specialized units under its direct supervision, researching, designing, and consulting in various fields in the design and manufacturing of integrated equipment and specialized equipment for industrial sectors. As a unit operating in diverse technological fields, the Institute has extensive experience and cutting-edge technologies that are applied to production and to important industries of the national economy, creating a strong foundation for innovation.
