Abstract: The coal sampling unit is an indispensable part of the entire fuel supply process to the boilers for thermal power plants. The main function of this system is to check the uniformity of the coal material flow on the conveyor belt transporting to the boiler. This system includes many complex equipment assemblies such as sampling, grinding, transporting, and collecting samples for component analysis. Analyzing the dynamic process of the entire system is relatively complex. This paper mainly focuses on investigating the dynamics of two important mechanisms: the sampling hammer and the roller grinding system. In addition, a design solution for the sampling hammer controller is also proposed.
