Abstract: The variation of torque distributed to the driving wheels depends on the value of friction torque. In other words, the torque distributed to the driving wheels is a function of friction torque. This paper analyzes the influence of friction on the torque distribution to the two half-axles of the vehicle, analyzes the friction within the differential, and presents a model for calculating these friction values in the active rear axle differential. An investigation of friction in the differential is conducted with the support of Ansys Workbench software.
