On the morning of July 6, 2022, at the National Convention Center, the National Research Institute of Mechanical Engineering (NARIME) solemnly held the Ceremony to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the founding of the National Research Institute of Mechanical Engineering (July 6, 1962 – July 6, 2022) and received the Emulation Flag of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Vietnam Industry and Trade Union, and the Certificate of Merit from the Hanoi Enterprise Party Committee.

Attending the ceremony were: Mr. Nguyen Sinh Nhat Tan, Member of the Party Affairs Committee, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade; Mr. Nguyen Cao Luc, Deputy Head of the Government Office; leaders from various General Departments, Departments, Bureaus, Associations, Research Institutes, Universities, Corporations, General Companies, Companies, Banks, domestic and international enterprises; Departments, Boards, and Branches of Hanoi City; scientists; representatives from press agencies covering the event; and generations of staff, officials, and employees of the Institute.

Over the 60-year journey of formation and development, the National Research Institute of Mechanical Engineering has been Vietnam's leading research and development organization in the field of Mechanical Engineering and Automation, consistently linked with the nation's industrialization cause. The Institute has contributed alongside the Vietnamese mechanical engineering sector to achieving commendable results in the program of localizing equipment for various industries.

At this solemn ceremony, Dr. Phan Dang Phong, Secretary of the Party Committee and Director of the National Research Institute of Mechanical Engineering, on behalf of the Institute's leadership, as well as generations of staff, officials, and employees, delivered the welcome speech, reporting on the results achieved by the Institute during its 60 years of construction and development.

Building on the successes achieved over the past 60 years, the Institute's orientation for the coming period is to establish itself as a leading research and development enterprise in Vietnam, with prestige in the international market in the field of Mechanical Engineering and Automation. The core focus is building and developing human resources capable of receiving and transferring technology for complete equipment lines in line with the socio-economic development guidelines of the Party and the State.

To make focused, prioritized investments in S&T projects and schemes that directly create products for industries, thereby building the Institute's signature products.

To consolidate and enhance the capacity to act as a general contractor or turnkey contractor for complete equipment packages in domestic and international industrial projects within the Institute's strengths, such as thermal power, hydropower, bauxite mining and processing, new and renewable energy, waste heat recovery power generation systems, waste treatment and power generation, automation in industrial production lines, and smart warehouses.

To prioritize recruitment, training, and retraining to improve the quality of human resources to meet job requirements in the new era.

At the ceremony, on behalf of the leadership of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Deputy Minister Nguyen Sinh Nhat Tan awarded the Institute the Emulation Flag of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, commending and highly appreciating the outstanding achievements and contributions of generations of staff, officials, and employees of the Institute over its 60-year journey of formation and development. In his directive speech at the ceremony, the Deputy Minister requested the Institute to strive to promote achieved results, unite, innovate, and be creative to seize opportunities and overcome difficulties, proactively completing assigned tasks well; to ensure that all scientific and technological activities are linked to production; research topics, consulting tasks, and professional services must originate primarily from practical requirements and be applied to production as quickly as possible; the cooperative relationship between the Institute and enterprises must be bound by the legitimate interests of all parties and according to the principles of the market mechanism. At the same time, the Deputy Minister suggested that the Institute focus on implementing several orientations and tasks based on the Party's and State's policies on reforming the management of public service units, the operational orientation of science and technology in the Industry and Trade sector, and the development strategy of the mechanical engineering industry.

During the ceremony, the Institute was honored to receive a Certificate of Merit and congratulatory flowers from the Hanoi Enterprise Party Committee, recognizing the Party Committee of the National Research Institute of Mechanical Engineering as an unit that "Excellently Completed Tasks," meeting the standard of being a typical "Pure and Strong" unit for 2021; the Vietnam Industry and Trade Union awarded the Emulation Flag and congratulatory flowers to the Institute's Trade Union to acknowledge the efforts and endeavors of the entire Institute collective, particularly the Institute's Trade Union organization which has performed well its role and responsibility in caring for the lives of staff and workers, and effectively organized emulation movements.
