Ceremony to celebrate Vietnamese Teachers' Day (November 20), Doctoral Degree Conferment Ceremony, and Issuance of Decisions Recognizing Research Students for 2025

On the morning of November 20, 2024, in meeting room P209, the National Research Institute of Mechanical Engineering solemnly held a rally ceremony to celebrate the 43rd anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers' Day, a ceremony to award Doctoral degrees and hand over Decisions recognizing doctoral candidates (NCS) for 2025.

 

Attending the ceremony were: Dr. Vu Van Khoa, Deputy Director, presiding over the ceremony; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Thu Quy, Director of the Training Center; leaders of functional departments; teachers, scientists, new PhDs and NCS of the Institute; guest Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Ngoc Hien, Head of the Mechanical Engineering Faculty - University of Transport and Communications, and some teachers involved in doctoral training at the Institute from training institutions in Hanoi.

 

Currently, the Institute is managing 20 NCS; since the beginning of 2025, 4 NCS have completed their dissertations and received Decisions awarding PhD degrees.

 

Deputy Director Vu Van Khoa, on behalf of the Institute's Board of Directors, awarded PhD degrees to the 4 new PhDs of the Institute in 2025: Hoang Xuan Tu, lecturer at Thai Nguyen University of Technology; Bui Thanh Hien, lecturer at Thai Nguyen University of Technology; Nguyen Quang Vinh, lecturer at University of Transport and Communications; Nguyen Van Tung, lecturer at Thai Nguyen University of Technology.

 

New PhD Nguyen Quang Vinh, representing the 4 new PhDs, gave a speech thanking and expressing gratitude to the National Research Institute of Mechanical Engineering, the teachers, colleagues, and his family for always standing by, creating conditions, and providing dedicated support throughout the period of study, research, and successful dissertation defense.

 

Next, Deputy Director Vu Van Khoa handed over Decision No. 67/QĐ-NCCK signed on May 5, 2025, by the Director of the National Research Institute of Mechanical Engineering on recognizing NCS for the 2025 cohort (Phase 1) to 5 new NCS: Nguyen Tien Dung, senior researcher of the Institute; Le Ha An, lecturer at Electric Power University; Dang Van An, technical staff at Phuc Gia Testing Joint Stock Company; Hoang Trong Vinh, lecturer at CEN ACADEMY Joint Stock Company; Tran Thi Hue, lecturer at Thai Nguyen University of Technology.

 

NCS Le Ha An, representing the new NCS, gave a speech of thanks, while expressing determination to complete the dissertation with quality assurance and compliance with the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training as well as the Institute.

 

Next, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Ngoc Hien gave a congratulatory speech, emphasizing the increasingly close cooperation between the University of Transport and Communications and the National Research Institute of Mechanical Engineering. Currently, besides new PhD Nguyen Quang Vinh who has completed his dissertation and was awarded a degree in 2025, there are 2 lecturers from the University currently studying as NCS at the Institute.

 

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Van Got, on behalf of the scientists involved in training, gave a speech reviewing some of the Institute's training results achieved so far, analyzing the main challenges faced in the process of study and scientific research to complete the dissertation during the period when the country is undergoing strong transformation.  

 

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dao Duy Trung gave a speech further emphasizing the Institute's training achievements. To date, the Institute has trained 40 PhDs, of whom 4 have received the academic title of Associate Professor, and many PhDs after graduating from the Institute have developed very well, have been and are being entrusted with major responsibilities in many institutes, schools, and enterprises.

 

Finally, in his directive speech, Deputy Director Vu Van Khoa congratulated the new PhDs and new NCS of the Institute, and gave some directions and suggestions on implementing doctoral training at the Institute in the coming time.

 

The ceremony was held solemnly and concluded successfully.
