Capabilities in the field of Ash and Slag Discharge Systems (AHS)

National Research Institute of Mechanical Engineering has experience in performing the following tasks:

+ Ash and slag handling system including: Bottom ash conveying, fly ash conveying, and slag discharge system from the plant;

+ Vacuum-type fly ash conveying system designed to transport fly ash for Units 1 and 2 from electrostatic precipitators, economizers, and air heaters. The fly ash system also includes a common fly ash silo for both Units 1 and 2 with aeration system, emergency ash discharge equipment: (1) dry ash discharge device, (1) wet ash discharge device, and (2) transition bins located beneath the silo together with jet pumps for transporting slurry to the sump pit under normal operating conditions;

+ Bottom ash system designed to convey bottom ash by submerged scraper conveyors and inclined conveyors to the bottom ash silo. The bottom ash disposal system is provided with a reversing conveyor to discharge ash to trucks or jet pump systems for transfer to the sump pit;

All bottom ash and fly ash are collected in the sump pit and transported to the ash pond by slurry pumps, with water separated from the ash and slag in the pond being returned to the water pit by recirculation pumps.
