On July 4, 2026, with the approval of the Institute's Board of Directors, the Trade Union in coordination with the Youth Union of the Institute successfully organized a Pickleball tournament to celebrate the 64th anniversary of the founding of the National Research Institute of Mechanical Engineering (July 6, 1962 - July 6, 2026). This was the first time this sport was included in the annual movement system for officials, employees, and workers within the Institute.
The tournament brought together 45 athletes to compete, including 30 officials and engineers from the Institute and 15 guests from BIDV Bank (Hanoi Branch) and GP Holdings Group.
Immediately after the opening ceremony, the athletes began competing in three categories: Men's Doubles, Women's Doubles, and Mixed Doubles. Although it was the first time the event was organized, the matches were dramatic with high professional quality, offering the audience many technical and impressive shots. The participation of guest units not only boosted the spirit of the tournament but also provided a valuable opportunity for exchange and strengthening cooperative working relationships.
After a day of exciting competition in a spirit of noble sportsmanship, the tournament concluded successfully. The Organizing Committee awarded prizes to the best pairs of athletes in each category.
The Pickleball tournament celebrating the 64th anniversary of the founding of the National Research Institute of Mechanical Engineering was a beneficial playground, contributing to promoting the health training movement following the example of the great Uncle Ho, while creating an exciting emulation atmosphere throughout the agency. The success of the tournament will provide additional motivation for the collective of officials and workers of the National Research Institute of Mechanical Engineering to successfully complete scientific research and technology transfer tasks in the journey ahead.
