On the afternoon of May 30, 2025, at Meeting Room P209 of the National Research Institute of Mechanical Engineering, the Institute held the Institute-level doctoral thesis defense ceremony for PhD candidate Nguyen Van Tung, currently a lecturer at the University of Industrial Technology - Thai Nguyen University:

• Thesis title: “Study on the influence of some technological parameters on the external cylindrical surface finishing process using graphite electrode with powder-mixed dielectric fluid”

The doctoral thesis evaluation committee consisted of 7 members: Committee Chairperson: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Thu Quy (National Research Institute of Mechanical Engineering); Committee Secretary: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ha Minh Hung (National Research Institute of Mechanical Engineering); 3 Reviewers: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Huu Phan (Hanoi University of Industry), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Ngoc Hien (University of Transport and Communications), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dao Duy Trung (National Research Institute of Mechanical Engineering); 2 Members: Prof. Dr. Nguyen Duc Toan (Hanoi University of Science and Technology) and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Thanh Nga (Thai Nguyen University of Industrial Technology).

Attending the thesis defense ceremony, from Thai Nguyen University of Industrial Technology, there was Prof. Dr. Vu Ngoc Pi - Vice Rector; from the National Research Institute of Mechanical Engineering, there was Dr. Vu Van Khoa - Vice Director; in addition, there were also educators, scientists from within and outside the Institute, many colleagues, family members, and friends of the PhD candidate.

The result of the Institute-level doctoral thesis defense of PhD candidate Nguyen Van Tung was evaluated by the committee with a unanimous approval vote of 7/7, including 4/7 excellent votes. The results of the thesis have been published in 5 international scientific articles/reports, including 1 article ranked SCIE Q2, 1 SCOPUS Q3 article, and 3 SCOPUS Q4 scientific reports.
