Abstract: The propeller shaft in the drivetrain of light trucks allows relative angular displacement between shafts and axial displacement at the splined joint on the shaft assembly body. The propeller shaft transmits torque from the transmission to the drive axle, enabling vehicle motion. This paper presents a research application of multibody dynamics theory to develop a mechanical model, a mathematical model, and the governing equations describing the motion of the propeller shaft in light trucks.
