On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the founding of the National Research Institute of Mechanical Engineering (July 6, 1962 – July 6, 2022), the Executive Committee of the Youth Union coordinated with the Executive Committee of the Institute's Trade Union to organize the "2022 Traditional Sports Tournament" including tennis, badminton, and football.

The National Research Institute of Mechanical Engineering Sports Tournament aims to create a healthy and useful playground, inspiring sports training and health improvement among the staff and employees. At the same time, it demonstrates the leadership's concern for the spiritual life of the staff after their hard work. Besides promoting health, the tournament also serves to strengthen solidarity and facilitate exchange and learning among departments and centers across the Institute. Thereby, it contributes to enhancing scientific research spirit, labor productivity, work efficiency, and the best completion of assigned tasks. The 2022 Traditional Sports Tournament concluded successfully and affirmed the strength of the Institute's cultural and sports movement.

In particular, the football tournament featured the participation of 8 teams from various units and joint teams between units, divided into 2 groups. The tournament took place from April 22, 2022, and concluded on the afternoon of May 13, 2022, with matches for first, second, and third place. With the enthusiastic support of a large number of staff who made time to cheer, and the dedicated efforts of the players from participating teams, after nearly a month of competition, the results are as follows:

- First prize: Heavy Machinery Center (CKN) team;

- Second prize: Joint team of Thermal Power Equipment Center (TPEC), Welding and Surface Treatment Laboratory (WST Lab), Hydromechanics Research Center (HRC);

- Third prize: Machine and Automation Center (TMT) team;

- Style prize: Industrial Inspection and Engineering Center (KKC) team.

The football tournament brought many surprises to the spectators with great plays and beautiful goals. At the closing ceremony and award presentation for the teams, present were Comrade Phan Huu Thang, Party Committee Member, Deputy Director; Comrade Duong Trong Dong, Party Committee Member, Chairman of the Trade Union; Comrade Nguyen Anh Tung, Secretary of the Youth Union; and a large number of staff who made time to cheer.
