On July 30, 2017, Unit 1 of Thai Binh 1 Thermal Power Plant conducted coal-fired load testing. The coal-firing plan involved increasing capacity from 25%-50%-75%-80% and reaching 100% by August 15, 2017. The Ash Handling System (AHS) was also undergoing load testing in parallel with the boiler firing plan. Both the fly ash and bottom ash systems operated relatively stably.
However, due to the boiler's coal combustion mode still being in the testing phase, the quality of bottom ash remained unstable. Engineers from NARIME, as well as from the subcontractor UCC and related contractors, continued to monitor and adjust the system to ensure optimal operation, meeting the requirements of the main contractor Marubeni and the investor EVN.
According to the plan, coal firing will be halted on August 23, 2017, to inspect the boiler area. In parallel with the load testing of Unit 1, Unit 2 is also in the final stages of completion, preparing for the coal-firing plan scheduled for September 3, 2016. All preparatory work is being carried out to the highest standards to ensure compliance with the schedule and technical requirements for Unit 2's coal firing.
Currently, the plant is at the peak of load testing activities. Therefore, NARIME engineers are working with high concentration, arranging 24/7 shifts during Unit 1's coal firing, as well as deploying personnel for Unit 2's testing to ensure that Unit 2's coal firing proceeds as planned.
