Toward celebrating the 63rd anniversary of the founding of the National Research Institute of Mechanical Engineering (July 6, 1962 – July 6, 2025) and the 94th anniversary of the founding of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (March 26, 1931 – March 26, 2025), on March 3, 2024, the Institute's Trade Union and Youth Union jointly organized and opened the 2025 Traditional Sports Tournament.

Attending the opening ceremony were comrades from the Institute's Leadership Board, Party Committee, Trade Union, Youth Union, heads of functional departments and units, and a large number of athletes from various units within the Institute participating in the tournament.

Comrade Vu Van Khoa, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Deputy Director, and Head of the Tournament Organizing Committee, delivered the opening speech for the 2025 Traditional Sports Tournament, while wishing all athletes good health, excellent performance, and the highest achievements in the events and competitions they participate in.

The Institute's 2025 sports tournament includes the following events: Men's Mini Football (7 players per team), Tennis (Men's Doubles), Badminton (Men's Doubles, Women's Doubles, Mixed Doubles), Tug of War, Chess (International Chess), Chinese Chess, and Pickleball.

Immediately after the opening ceremony, the Tug of War competition was held in the front yard of the Institute's headquarters. The tournament was very lively, exciting, and enjoyable, with the participation of 7 tug-of-war teams from various units within the Institute. At the conclusion of the Tug of War tournament, the Institute's leadership awarded First, Second, and Third prizes to the winning teams.

The National Research Institute of Mechanical Engineering's Traditional Sports Tournament is held annually in March to celebrate the founding anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union as well as the founding anniversary of the National Research Institute of Mechanical Engineering. This is also an occasion for Institute staff to exercise, enhance exchange, and strengthen bonds in professional activities and work of individual units as well as the Institute's overall operations.
