Towards celebrating the 62nd anniversary of the founding of the National Research Institute of Mechanical Engineering (06/7/1962 - 06/7/2024) and the 93rd anniversary of the founding of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (26/3/1931 - 26/3/2019), on March 18, 2024, the Executive Committee of the Trade Union and the Youth Union of the Institute coordinated to organize and open the 2024 Traditional Sports Tournament.

Attending the opening ceremony were comrades from the Institute's Leadership Board, the Institute's Party Committee, the Executive Committee of the Trade Union, the Youth Union, leaders of functional departments and units, and a large number of athletes from various units of the Institute participating in the tournament.

Comrade Vu Van Khoa, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Deputy Director - Head of the Tournament Organizing Committee, delivered the opening speech for the 2024 Traditional Sports Tournament, while wishing all athletes good health, excellent competition, and the highest achievements in the events and sports they participate in.

The Institute's 2024 Sports Tournament includes the following events: Men's Mini Football (7 players/team), Tennis (Men's Doubles), Badminton (Men's Doubles, Women's Doubles, Mixed Doubles), Table Tennis, Tug of War, Chess, Chinese Chess, and Swimming.

Immediately after the opening ceremony, at the front yard of the Institute's 5-story headquarters building, the Tug of War competition took place with great excitement and joy, featuring the participation of 8 Tug of War teams from various units and functional departments within the Institute.

The Institute's Traditional Sports Tournament is organized annually to celebrate the founding anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union as well as the founding anniversary of the National Research Institute of Mechanical Engineering. This is also an occasion for the Institute's staff to improve their health, enhance exchange, and strengthen bonds in professional activities and work of individual units as well as the overall activities and work of the Institute.
