Abstract: This paper summarizes the research results on fabrication of Cr3C2-NiCr ceramic coatings by plasma spraying method, applied to restore and enhance the service life of circulating pump components operating in seawater. The investigated coating properties include porosity, microhardness, sliding adhesion on steel substrate, phase composition, and wear-corrosion resistance. Three technological parameters for coating fabrication were investigated: plasma current, spraying distance, and powder feed rate. Based on laboratory analysis results, the ceramic coating with appropriate spraying parameters was applied to protect against wear for components of two seawater circulating pump systems at Nghi Son 1 Thermal Power Plant, yielding good results after more than one year of operation.
