Abstract: Currently, Vietnam is developing thermal power plants with circulating fluidized bed combustion technology (CFB boilers). After combustion, coal turns into bottom ash discharged from the boiler with an average temperature of 600oC, which needs to be cooled to below 100oC. Research on heat transfer calculation models and selection of high-efficiency bottom ash cooling methods is one of the important tasks.  The authors have proposed a dry bottom ash cooling technology and a heat exchange calculation model.
