Article abstract: In Vietnam today, coal-fired thermal power plants with capacities from 300MW to 600MW that have been and are being constructed all apply the installation of rotary regenerative air preheaters, including plants such as Phả Lại 2, Hải Phòng, Quảng Ninh, Mông Dương, Nghi Sơn 1, Vũng Áng, Duyên Hải... The air preheaters in these plants are mainly imported from abroad, such as: the United States, China, ... Stemming from the demand for using rotary regenerative air preheaters in upcoming thermal power plant construction projects, as well as the very large need for manufacturing and repairing spare parts for air preheaters during mid-term and major overhauls, the project team of the National Research Institute of Mechanical Engineering registered to implement the project with code number KC.03.30/11-15: "Research, design and manufacture of rotary regenerative air preheaters in coal-fired boilers of thermal power plants".
