Abstract: This paper presents a spatial model for dynamic analysis of the active rear axle differential assembly of light trucks, considering the effect of friction on the components of the differential mechanism in both locked and unlocked differential cases using mechanical equations. Matlab software is used to solve and determine the influence of road resistance coefficient on differential dynamics. From that, the operating conditions of the vehicle on traffic roads, agricultural roads, forest roads, or different types of roads are determined.
