PV Power and NARIME sign comprehensive cooperation agreement to promote localization of equipment, master mechanical technology, and enhance operational efficiency of power plants.
On December 23, in Hanoi, PetroVietnam Power Corporation - CTCP (PV Power) and the National Research Institute of Mechanical Engineering (NARIME) officially signed a Comprehensive Cooperation Agreement, aimed at leveraging and promoting the strengths and potential of each party, towards enhancing technological self-reliance, ensuring efficient and sustainable production and business operations.
Attending the signing ceremony, on behalf of PV Power were Mr. Le Nhu Linh, General Director of PetroVietnam Power Corporation, and Mr. Ngo Van Chien, Deputy General Director in charge of the sector. On behalf of NARIME were Mr. Phan Dang Phong, President of the National Research Institute of Mechanical Engineering (Ministry of Industry and Trade), along with management staff and technical experts from both units.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Mr. Le Nhu Linh - General Director of PV Power - emphasized: "PV Power always prioritizes enhancing production and business efficiency and the reliability of its plants. Cooperation with NARIME not only opens opportunities to optimize maintenance and repair work but also serves as an important lever to promote localization, master mechanical and automation technology, and ensure national energy security sustainably. We believe that NARIME will be a reliable partner, accompanying PV Power to conquer new goals."

The signing of the Comprehensive Cooperation Agreement is considered a strategic step, connecting the strengths of a leading power generation company with extensive experience in operating, repairing, and maintaining power plants with a leading scientific research institute in mechanical and automation technology under the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
According to the agreement, PetroVietnam Power Corporation and the National Research Institute of Mechanical Engineering agree to build a long-term, trustworthy cooperative relationship on a mutually beneficial basis, focusing on key areas of cooperation.

First, the two parties prioritize cooperation in the field of technology mastery and localization of materials and equipment for power plants. The focus is on the Localization of Materials and Equipment program through reverse engineering and re-engineering of parts and assemblies with high failure rates, high import costs, or long delivery times, thereby reducing dependence on foreign supply.
In addition, the two parties will jointly research, develop, and complete comprehensive technology processes for machining, manufacturing new, or restoring mechanical materials, meeting the technical requirements of the power plants under PetroVietnam Power Corporation.
In the field of specialized technical solutions and maintenance, the National Research Institute of Mechanical Engineering will coordinate to provide research, design, replacement, and upgrading services for equipment and systems; and perform professional repair and maintenance services to optimize the operating performance of power plants.

Regarding the environment and energy transition, the two parties agree to cooperate in surveying and researching options for renovating flue gas treatment systems at thermal power plants, ensuring compliance with new emission standards according to QCVN 19:2024/BTNMT. Simultaneously, the two parties will study the possibility of converting coal-fired thermal power plant technology to use ammonia when required by competent authorities, in line with global energy transition trends and Vietnam's Net Zero commitments.
The signing ceremony of the Comprehensive Cooperation Agreement between PetroVietnam Power Corporation and the National Research Institute of Mechanical Engineering was successful, opening a new, in-depth, and effective phase of cooperation, contributing to enhancing endogenous scientific and technological capabilities and supporting both units in achieving their production and business goals.
