On the morning of October 19, 2024, at meeting room P209 of the National Research Institute of Mechanical Engineering headquarters, the Institute organized the Institute-level doctoral thesis defense ceremony for PhD Candidate Bui Thanh Hien, currently a lecturer at the University of Industrial Technology - Thai Nguyen University:

• Thesis title: “Research on determining reasonable grinding parameters for square external cylindrical parts made of SKD11 steel using CBN grinding wheel on CNC milling machine”
• Training discipline: Mechanical Engineering - Code: 9520103
• Academic supervisors: Prof. Dr. Vu Ngoc Pi and Dr. Vu Van Khoa

The doctoral thesis evaluation committee consisted of 7 members: Chairman of the Committee: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Thu Quy (National Research Institute of Mechanical Engineering); Secretary of the Committee: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dao Duy Trung (National Research Institute of Mechanical Engineering); 3 reviewers: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Truong Hoanh Son (Hanoi University of Science and Technology), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hong Son (Hanoi University of Industry), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Van Got (National Research Institute of Mechanical Engineering); 2 members: Prof. Dr. Nguyen Duc Toan (Hanoi University of Science and Technology) and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ngo Minh Tuan (Thai Nguyen University of Industrial Technology).

Attending the thesis defense ceremony, from Thai Nguyen University of Industrial Technology, there was Prof. Dr. Vu Ngoc Pi - Vice Rector; from the National Research Institute of Mechanical Engineering, there was Dr. Vu Van Khoa - Vice Director; in addition, there were teachers, scientists from within and outside the Institute, many colleagues, family members, and friends of the PhD Candidate.

The result of the Institute-level doctoral thesis defense of PhD Candidate Bui Thanh Hien was evaluated by the Committee with 7/7 approval votes, including 3/7 excellent votes. The results of the thesis have been published in 4 international articles/scientific reports, including 1 article ranked SCOPUS Q3, 2 articles SCOPUS Q4, and 1 English article published in the Journal of Military Science and Technology.

The Institute-level doctoral thesis defense ceremony of PhD Candidate Bui Thanh Hien concluded and was a great success.
