On the morning of October 5, 2024, at meeting room P209, headquarters of the National Research Institute of Mechanical Engineering, the Institute organized the Institute-level doctoral thesis defense for PhD candidate (NCS) Hoang Xuan Tu, currently a lecturer at the University of Industrial Engineering - Thai Nguyen University:

• Thesis title: “Research on the electrical discharge pulse process of hardened square-shaped SKD11 steel using dielectric fluid mixed with SiC powder of different particle sizes”
• Training discipline: Mechanical Engineering - Code: 9520103
• Academic supervisors: Prof. Dr. Vu Ngoc Pi and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Thu Quy

The thesis evaluation committee consisted of 7 members: Chairman of the Committee: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Chi Sang (National Research Institute of Mechanical Engineering); Secretary of the Committee: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dao Duy Trung (National Research Institute of Mechanical Engineering); 3 reviewers: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Van Tao (Military Technical Academy), Prof. Dr. Pham Van Hung (Hanoi University of Science and Technology), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Van Got (National Research Institute of Mechanical Engineering); 2 members: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Van Dong (Hanoi University of Industry) and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Xuan Hung (Thai Nguyen University of Industrial Engineering).

Attending the thesis defense ceremony, from the University of Industrial Engineering, there was Prof. Dr. Vu Ngoc Pi - Vice Rector, and from the National Research Institute of Mechanical Engineering, there was Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Thu Quy - Director of the Training Center, in addition to the presence of educators, scientists from inside and outside the Institute, many colleagues, family, and friends of the PhD candidate (NCS).

The result of the Institute-level doctoral thesis defense of PhD candidate (NCS) Hoang Xuan Tu was evaluated by the Committee with a unanimous approval vote of 7/7, including 3/7 votes for excellence. The results of the thesis have been published in 5 international scientific papers/reports, including 1 paper ranked SCOPUS Q3 and 4 papers SCOPUS Q4.

The Institute-level doctoral thesis defense of PhD candidate (NCS) Hoang Xuan Tu concluded successfully.
