Summary of new conclusions of the thesis
1. Scientific significance:
- Through experiments on a static model and a practical model of the filter chamber of a horizontal electrostatic precipitator (ESP), three parameters were optimized: hammer mass (m), drop height (h), and inlet dust concentration (η) meeting the rapping acceleration (a) of the discharge electrode frame and the impact force (F) of the hammer;
- Through experiments on a discharge electrode model using fatigue testing of scaled specimens, an experimental fatigue curve was constructed according to the theory of B. P. Kogaiev regarding the relationship between fatigue strength (σm) and fatigue life in cycles (N).
2. Practical significance
- The research results can be applied to design the discharge electrode frame set for the filter chamber of a horizontal ESP with force distribution on the discharge frame at different loading positions and for ESPs of different capacities.
- The research results can also be used as reference material in teaching and research.
3. New contributions of the thesis
- Through experiments on a static model combined with a practical model of the filter chamber with the same capacity of the horizontal ESP, three parameters were optimized: hammer mass (m), drop height (h), and inlet dust concentration (η) meeting the output criteria, namely the rapping acceleration (a) and the hammer striking force (F), respectively;
- Through experiments on a static model and a practical model with the same capacity of the dust filter chamber, an experimental fatigue curve was constructed according to the theory of the relationship between fatigue strength (σm) and fatigue life (N) of the discharge electrode frame.
