On January 30, 2018, at meeting room 209, the National Research Institute of Mechanical Engineering organized a council to evaluate and accept Institute-level science and technology projects for 2017, in accordance with Decision No. 299/QĐ-NCCK dated December 26, 2017, of the Director of the National Research Institute of Mechanical Engineering on the establishment of a Grassroots-level Science and Technology Council to assess and accept Institute-level scientific research and technology projects for 2017.

In 2017, the Institute had 07 scientific research and technology projects approved by the Director of the National Research Institute of Mechanical Engineering under Decision No. 104/QĐ-NCCK dated January 20, 2017, on assigning the implementation of science and technology tasks for 2017 to units within the Institute. The projects accepted at the Institute level include:

1, Research on technology and equipment for dry filtration of red mud for the two Alumin Lam Dong and Nhan Co plants;

2, Research, design, and establishment of manufacturing processes for cleaning units for rubber conveyor belts using soft modules and scrapers made of hard alloy;

3, Research, design, and manufacture of automatic sorting equipment for wooden planks by moisture content;

4, Research and design of coal handling equipment at ports using continuous bucket elevators;

5, Research, design, and manufacture of a model for coal handling equipment at ports using continuous bucket elevators;

6, Research and design of combined stacking-reclaiming machines and independent stacking machines for the coal supply system of coal-fired thermal power plants with a unit capacity of 600 MW;

7, Research, design, and manufacture of a model of a stacking-reclaiming machine.

Participating in the Council were Dr. Phan Dang Phong, Deputy Director of the National Research Institute of Mechanical Engineering, serving as Chairman of the Council, along with reviewers, members, the secretary of the Council, representatives from the Finance - Accounting Department, the Economics - Science and Technology Department, the project leaders, and collaborators from units within the Institute involved in the projects.

The project leaders presented summaries of the achieved scientific and technological research results. The research projects, which were topical and highly practical, were well executed by the project leaders and their collaborators, with feasible proposals and recommendations. The Council requested that the project leaders incorporate the comments and suggestions of the Council members to revise, supplement, and finalize the projects.

At the end of the session, the Council voted to evaluate and comment on the results of the 07 projects, of which 04 projects achieved the rating of Excellent and 03 projects achieved the rating of Good.
